WOW. My first book review that I’m posting to my website is an incredibly intelligent, plot-driven story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Benjamin Cross brilliantly describes the scenes, the characters, and the action as it pours out from the pages. I won’t give away the story, but it’ll take you to a remote island in northern Russia where a team uncovers unimaginable horrors. It’ll have you rooting for the characters, wondering how they’ll escape several incidents, and guessing until the end. It’s a gripping page-turner for sure.
There are lots of jaw-dropping plot twists, which I absolutely love. I’m also a big fan of parts that make the heart pound faster with the suspense. Some parts made me laugh, and a couple parts even made me cry. I was surprised that this was a debut novel – Benjamin’s writing is superb and enticing. It draws you in from the beginning and it was hard to put down! The scenery is spectacularly described as well, and it’s so important for me to be able to “see” what I’m reading.
Lots of thrills and chills await you in COLONY. I’m honoured to have been able to read an advanced copy of this wonderful book before its release on January 28/21.
